Boston Duck Tour & New England Aquarium
Location: Boston, MA Price: $125.00
Date(s): 04/27/2024 Time:
Saturday, April 27, 2024

The fun begins as soon as you board your “DUCK”, a W.W.II style amphibious landing vehicle. First, you’ll be greeted by one of their legendary tour ConDUCKtors, who’ll be narrating your sightseeing tour of Boston. Then you’re off on a journey like you’ve never had before. And, as the best of Boston unfolds before your eyes, your ConDUCKtor will be giving you lots of little-known facts and interesting insights about our unique and wonderful city. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s more. It’s time for “Splashdown” as your captain splashes your DUCK right into the Charles River for a breathtaking view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, the kind of view you just won’t get anywhere else.

Then walk across the street to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, it is actually four great places in one location – Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, North Market and South Market, all set around a cobblestone promenade where jugglers, magicians and musicians entertain the passers-by. Dine at a restaurant or at one of the many outdoor cafes. In addition, you’ll find thirty international food merchants inside the Quincy Market Food Colonnade – the largest food hall in New England. So, by all means, stroll, shop, eat, laugh, wander, wonder and explore it all.

After lunch walk back across the street to the New England Aquarium, home to thousands of aquatic animals—from northern fur seals to giant Pacific octopus to little blue penguins. They also offer a wide range of exhibits, including the largest shark ray touch tank on the East Coast and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef home to Myrtle the green sea turtle and hundreds of other Caribbean animals.

Day 2 – Wednesday, June 26, 2024
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before greeting our step-on guide Bruce Michael, a longtime resident of Southampton and New York City, and a retired creative producer of the Radio City Rockettes will meet us at our hotel to begin our tour of the North Fork and Sag Harbor Long Island. On the route to Sag Harbor, we’ll make a stop at Conscience Point, a 60-acre refuge with a protected preserve where the British Settlers arrived in NY. While taking a short walk to the actual landing spot of the founding families of Southampton, its history will come alive as you view the spot where time stands still. The bus will then go down North Sea Road, the same route the Shinnecock Indians used to guide the families as they showed them the area that would become their new settlement. We will then pass through the neighborhoods of North Sea and Noyac on the route to Sag Harbor. Founded in 1707, Sag Harbor’s port was the center of foreign and coastal trade and designated by President George Washington in 1789 as an official port of entry into the United States. Sag Harbor’s illustrious history will be described as you view its immaculately restored neighborhoods and local treasures.

Once back on the bus, we’ll travel to Sag Harbor Village for lunch and shopping on your own. In Sag Harbor there is a wide array of restaurants to suit every taste. Depart Sag Harbor and journey to the East End’s North Fork.

Bidding farewell to Sag Harbor, we will cross its bridge into the Peninsula of North Haven, aboard the South Shelter Island Ferry, the only connection between Shelter Island and the South Fork. After the 10-minute crossing you will be on Shelter Island, an 8000-acre enchanted enclave. The Nature Conservancy owns one third of the Island, maintaining its vast tracts of forests, wetlands, and preserves. Shelter Island’s history will be showcased as we wind our way through this magical island nestled between the North and South Forks. As we arrive at the North Side of Shelter Island, passing by Shelter Island Heights, we will board the North Shelter Island Ferry to the North Fork, landing in Greenport. Once a bustling whaling port, a center of ship building, and the former heart of Long Island’s oyster industry, it is now a vibrant destination for visitors from all over the world. We will pass through Greenport and travel west on Route 25 and travel the North Fork Wine Trail. At one time, the farms of the North Fork were dedicated to potatoes and corn. Since the Hargrave family opened the first area winery, the East End’s wine industry has grown to astronomical proportions. Now encompassing over 40 wineries, Long Island wines are more popular than ever. As you travel through the many picturesque Villages of the North Fork, we will pass the many vineyards and tasting rooms that make this area a popular destination throughout the year. We’ll arrive at a local vineyard for a wine tasting, with this stop being the perfect finale of your journey through the Long Island’s East End.

Then we’ll return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Enjoy a 3-course plated dinner at Atlantis. Begin with garden salad. Choose between the Top Sirloin Steak with a demi-glace, Chicken Francese, lightly battered in a buttery lemon wine sauce or Pasta Primavera, penne pasta al dente tossed with grilled vegetables in a light garlic & extra virgin olive oil sauce. For dessert Cheesecake with berry drizzle. Meals Included – Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 3 – Thursday, June 27, 2024
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before greeting our step-on guide again to begin our day in the Hamptons. Bruce will escort us through Historic Southampton Village, the oldest English settlement in New York State. The history of Southampton will be described as we travel through former farmlands, now the location of the estates of its celebrated residents.

We will make a stop at what was voted one of America’s best beaches: Cooper’s Beach, a must see. Taking a stroll on Cooper’s Beach is a sublime experience and firsthand look at where Southampton Village residents like to relax and enjoy a swim.
Our second stop is the heart of Southampton Village’s shopping district. Bruce will point out famous landmarks including Hildreth’s, America’s oldest department store, the charming boutiques of Job’s Lane, and the delightful eateries.

We continue to America’s most expensive zip codes of Sagaponack, Bridgehampton and East Hampton, traveling past some of the most beautiful homes in the Hamptons, from Steven Spielberg to Ina Garten. Our Step-on Guide Bruce will be sure to tell you who lives in many of the homes on the route.

On arrival in Montauk, hear the history from its origins as the home of the Montaukett Indians to its development as a fishing village, and now the home of beautiful properties, a quaint downtown and magnificent Harbor. Arrive at the seaside Village of Montauk to have lunch on your own, which offers an array of restaurants with varied cuisines.

We’ll depart the village and travel to the very end of Long Island and visit the Montauk Lighthouse. Montauk Lighthouse, is the oldest lighthouse in New York, authorized during the Presidency of George Washington. You can climb the 137 steps to the top of the tower and explore on your own the exhibits in the “keeper’s house” museum. Take the time to visit the gift shop and walk the grounds for the fantastic views.

On the way back to Southampton, we will travel to East Hampton Village, where we will have time to experience the famous thrift shop of the Ladies Village Improvement Society or stroll through the Village, considered one of the most beautiful in America. We’ll depart East Hampton, traveling through Hamptons horse country, known for its sprawling horse farms and the Hamptons Horse Show before returning back to our hotel. Freshen up before dinner tonight at a local restaurant. Meals Included – Breakfast, Dinner.

Nunsense: The Musical @ Newport Playhouse
Location: Newport, RI Price: $131.00
Date(s): 08/14/2024 Time:
Wednesday, August 14, 2024

Nunsense is a hilarious spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. Thus, the remaining nuns – ballet-loving Sister Leo, street-wise Sister Robert Anne, befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, the Mother Superior Sister Regina, and mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert – stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed. With catchy songs and irreverent comedy, Nunsense is sure to keep audiences rolling with laughter.

Their dinner theatre is unique...enjoy a great buffet--a wonderful play and a fun-filled cabaret. Their extensive, hearty buffet does not skimp on quality or selection. Everything is prepared on the premises. They offer a large variety of hot and cold foods, main entrees, side dishes, beverages and homemade desserts. A full liquor service is available. You will not be disappointed!

Their intimate theatre is just a short stroll from the dining room. There you will have reserved seating to enjoy some of the finest entertainment available. Professional actors will delight you with a wonderful play worthy of Broadway.

Then it is back to your original table...where the dining room has been transformed into a delightful Cabaret where their Company Members continue to entertain you with songs and laughter.

Date(s): 12/06/2024 - 12/08/2024 Time:
December 6 - 8, 2024
(Friday - Sunday)
3 Days, 2 Nights

Day 1 - Friday, December 6, 2024
Today, we travel to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, which covers about a quarter of the state and boasts some of the highest peaks in New England.

We’ll make a stop at Muddy Moose Restaurant, where you can order lunch on your own off their wilderness-themed American menu in a low-key, lodge like setting with a fireplace & a warm bar.

Then we will arrive at Nestlenook Farm for a Sleigh Ride. Our journey through their 65-acre estate begins the moment we board one of their custom Austrian Sleighs, pulled by horses. Enjoy the winter wonderland as the sleigh bells are jingling, skaters glide past on their outdoor skate park, music chimes in the background and snowcapped mountains surround you. Warm up in their fully enclosed warming center, sipping hot chocolate by the fire or roast marshmallows on one of their many outdoor fire-pits!

Then we will travel a short distance, where we will arrive and be greeted at the White Mountain Hotel & Resort, in North Conway, NH. The hotel features one of the most spectacular mountain settings to be found anywhere in New England! Enjoy outstanding facilities, including the award-winning Ledges Restaurant, Tullamore Tavern, health club, game room, and a year-round outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Upon arrival, enjoy a Yuletide Welcome Reception with punch in the Tullamore Tavern. This evening, you will be treated to an elegant dinner, which you may order off the menu, in Ledges Restaurant. After dinner, adjourn to their grand Echo Ballroom and enjoy this evening’s entertainment. Meals Included – Dinner.

Day 2 - Saturday, December 7, 2024
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast in Ledges Restaurant. You will then depart on a Guided Sightseeing Tour of Northern Mount Washington Valley, where you will learn the rich history of this area and enjoy scenic vistas including the famous Jackson Covered Bridge, Cranmore Mountain, the historic Conway Scenic Railroad, and much more!

This morning, enjoy your breakfast in Ledges Restaurant before checking out of the resort. Then we will depart for a special tour to Bethlehem, NH to the 1400-acre Rocks Estate, home of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Here you will enjoy an educational program about the history of the estate, with a focus on the Moose and Bear population found throughout NH. After the program, you will have time to explore their gift shop with an abundance of New England made specialty foods and crafts! Others may choose to relax and enjoy a cup of cocoa and cookies, or a walk around the grounds.

Next, we will make a stop at the Bethlehem Post Office. Because of the name of the town, people come from all over New England, and some people even send their cards from all over the United States and around the world to get their Christmas cards stamped with a holiday decorative cache stamp of the town of Bethlehem. So don’t forget to bring your Christmas Cards to mail!
